Health Care systems need to be updated and there is a need for Evolving and betterment. MCI has been a Key regulator in India. But MCI needed reforms and these reforms have been adjusted by the NEWLY Formed NMC.
NMC has proposed several changes in MBBS Curriculum as well as Testing.
They have come up with Several Proposed changes. NEXT (National Exit Examination is One such change)
Next is almost a replacement of NEET PG Examination for a Medical Students in India.
NEXT may Replace FMGE Examination for Foreign Medical Graduates.
For Overseas Medical Students NEXT will replace the Former MCI Screening Test
After Clearing NEXT Examination in future, a Doctor may have to serve a remote/rural area for about two to three years.
NEXT will be regulated as an exit examination for Post Graduate Medical Course.
The Final Year MBBS Examinations as was conducted by Local Universities will be regulated as a common NEXT Examination and based on their results in NEXT will be chosen for Higher Specialties.
The focus will be more on Conceptual studies and Skills.
That is what an (IMG ) Indian Medical Graduate should be.
It is yet to be seen what will be the mode of Examination. But for sure it might be more objective, structured and more refined.
